Two Hidden Stories from Sura Kahaf

(Story 1)

"And as for the boy (who was killed by Khidr (As)), the parents were believers and we feared lest he should overburden them with his impropriety (arabic - tugyaan) and disbelief...." (Sura Kahaf: 80)

On the authority of Abu Basir (R) on the authority of a man on the authority of the prophet (Sm) about the God's word: "and we feared":

" It means he [Al-Khidr] feared if the boy went on living he would invite his parents to disbelief and they would respond because of the excessive love they (parents) had for him (the boy)."

On the authority of Uthman (R) on the authority of a man on the authority of the prophet (Sm) about God's words: "So we desired that their Lord might give them in his place one better than him, in purity and more caring towards his kin":

" They (the righteous parents) had a little girl who went on to have a little boy who went on to become a prophet."

(Story 2)

"And as for the wall (which was fixed by Khidr (As)), it belonged to two orphan boys in the city, and there was beneath it a treasure belonging to them, and their father was a righteous man; so your Lord desired that they should attain their maturity and take out their treasure, a mercy from your Lord, .." (Kahaf: 82)

On the authority of Bayhaqi's Shuab al-iman on the authority of Ali bin Abi Talib (R) says on God's word "and there was beneath in a treasure belonging to them":

"It was a gold tablet on which was inscribed: (1) There was no God but Him, Muhammad is the Messenger of God. (2) It is amazing that anyone who remembers that death is true is Joyful, (3) It is amazing that anyone who remembers that hell is true Laughs, (4) It is amazing that anyone who remembers that ordainment (taqdir) is true, is sorrowful, (5) Its is amazing that anyone who sees the world and its disposal of the people in it, state after state, has confidence in it."
